Finding a good bargain is most chic and in tune with the times. A completely free stellar entertainment will be served up on the celestial smorgasbord in the predawn hours of July 7, 2009, about 5:00 AM EDT. You have only to look West as the Full Moon is about to set. If there aren’t clouds and you can find a clear view of the horizon, it will be possible to glimpse the penumbral or partial lunar eclipse shadowing Luna’s silver face. Long ago early star gazers saw eclipses as giant sky dragons which ate the light of the Sun or Moon, then returned it eventually, with everything being different. Today, astrologers recognize eclipses as important markers for changes. In esoteric or spiritual astrology an eclipse relates to glimpses of higher consciousness and connection with ascended masters and angels. This is the first of three important eclipses which will take place during the summer of 2009. (Excerpt below is used with the gracious permission of The Witches' Almanac where it first appeared in print and also is taken from Dikki-Jo’s book Koo Hollie and The Eight Phases of the Blue Moon) Full Moon with Sun in Cancer and The Moon in Capricorn (Takes place between June 21 - July 22). Pagan Mead Moon - A cycle of important work. New mown hay and the start of ale brewing in reserve for the winter ahead are honored. The phrase “make hay while the Sun shines” was originally coined to describe this cycle. Native American Strong Sun Moon The life giving Sun mingles with Moon’s sensitive nurture to facilitate strength and growth. Examine the house placements and planets near 15 degrees of the cardinal signs, (especially Capricorn) in your own natal chart for hints about how this eclipse will personally impact you.
